The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has retaken the majority in the Federal House of Representatives with Tuesday’s defection of five members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the ruling party.
Today’s development may have crushed the APC’s big push and momentum to effectively take over the House of Reps following the crisis rocking the ruling party.
Those who defected from the APC to the PDP are: Honourables Ladan Shehu Bichi (Kano), Abdulsalam Adamu (Kano), Sani Umar Dangaladima (Zamfara), Shehu Gusau (Zamfara) and Umar Bature (Sokoto).
Hon. Isa Mohammed Bashiru however defected to the APC from PDP. With this development, the PDP now has majority with 178 members as against the APC’s 168.

According to reports coming from news agencies in Algeria, the Air Algerie plane, a Boeing 737, which is the country's national airline, crashed after one of its engines caught fire as it took off in the remote city of Tamanrasset in the Sahara Desert.

Yobo: I'm Still Not 100% Fit

Super Eagles captain,Joseph Yobo has told Complete Sports  Norwich of England fans and indeed Nigerians have not seen his best yet despite posting what most British newspapers described as a man-of-the-match performance in Norwich City's scoreless tie against Manchester City at Carrow Road on Saturday.

Yobo,a deadline day loan transfer from Turkish giants,Fenerbahce made his debut for the Yellow Cannaries despite training for less than a week with his new teammates but the Nigerian believed his knowledge of the English Premier League and his experience counted for him when Norwich boss,Chris Hughton was drawing up his list.

'I'm happy we are able to get a positive result against Manchester City after many people thought we would be roasted following the 7-0 drubbing the team got in the first meeting at the Etihad last November,''said Yobo who will be in contention again tonight against West Ham at Boleyn Ground.

Yobo is confident the display and result against Manchester City can be the tonic the team needs to go on a run that will ensure their premier league survival.

'We will try to execute whatever the manager wants us to do against West Ham.The match is not about individuals but about the team,''further said Yobo who insists he is not in Norwich to prove anything to anybody other than to help the team.

Yobo reveals his main target is to help Norwich secure their premier league status.

Norwich are presently 16th on the premier league table with 25 points, two points above the relegation zone and Yobo is confident the club will avoid the drop.

''I'm not thinking about the national team for now.I need to play well for my team first before I can start thinking about the Super Eagles. So it's all about Norwich now,'said the most capped Nigerian player.

'I know it is a FIFA World Cup year and it is the dream of every player to be there in Brazil.I want to be there too because I love playing for Nigeria but I need to play well for Norwich first.I am happy I now have an opportunity to show my quality albeit I'm not 100% fit yet.I'm just going to keep on doing my job as a defender,''he told Complete Sports.

ASUU accuses FG of reneging on release of N20billion

The Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, has accused the Federal Govt of failing to honor one of the agreements it entered with FG before last year's six-month-old strike was called off.

FG had promised the release of N20billion at the beginning of every quarter for infrastructural development of all Universities during its negotiations with ASUU.
In a media parley with newsmen at the University of Ibadan yesterday, the National Treasurer of ASUU, Dr. Ademola Aremu lamented the failure of Government to honour agreements with ASUU..
"All the strike ASUU had embarked upon in this country were basically because the Federal Government failed to honour agreements freely entered with us. It is also sad that each time before we begin the strike, we would give the government enough warnings and grace to make them retrace their steps. But they always fail. We don’t know why the government is always unwilling to implement the documents signed by their representatives. However, we will continue to fight for the system because if the system collapses, we will collapse with it.”

Woman desperate for dimples pays $2500 to get her cheeks pierced

Lol. Every day, another weird story. Trained lawyer Cherrelle Campbell (pictured above before and after her procedure) paid $2,500 to undergo dimpleplasty on both cheeks to get the dimples she's always wanted.
'I've always loved dimples but I wasn't blessed to be given big ones. When God was giving out dimples I was at the back of the queue. I find myself on the street or watching TV and anyone with dimples stands out to me. I was online with my friend and we were basically having a joke as to what procedures you could do and you couldn't do, and I was like: "wow, I didn't know you could have your dimples done. I gave it a bit of thought, contacted them and here I am. I wanted really deep ones so every time I smile, they're there and I'm glad it's for life as well. It's not something I'm going to have to repeat which is good.'
Cherrelle said she didn't expect such deep holes but knows she will love them
"I was impressed as I didn't think they were going to be that deep, it's mixed feelings. Once it has healed, I know I will love it.'

APC is Like The Church of Satan – Pastor Tunde Bakare

The General Overseer of the Latter Rain Assembly and former Vice Presidential candidate under the Congress for Progressive Change, Pastor Tunde Bakare has likened the leading opposition party, All Progressives Congress to the Church of Satan in a parable.
“APC is like a newly opened church of Satan with the evil as a Pastor which could not be distinguished by Nigerians from a true living Godly Church and hence could be mistaken for a real Church, even when it was made of thieves (Legitimate Pen Robbers), that is why they ganged up against Local Government fiscal Autonomy using crumbs from stolen accumulated wealth to bribe their thievery colleagues at Federal and State house of Assembly." Tunde Bakare said
“It is very clear that 5 Governors of APC in the west is far richer than their state and they have looted every penny from their state purse. People should be careful of this Rogues,” he added.
